Daily VMT

Overview

This dataset offers nationwide, daily vehicle miles traveled (VMT) metrics for private auto, commercial vehicle, and on-demand trips. VMT includes trips taken these modes of travel in the selected geography, regardless of driver's residence. Data is available from January 2025 onward, refreshed weekly, and can be viewed or exported (CSV) for custom geographies or standard city, county, and regional levels.

Schema

Field Name	Description
geoid	The ID of the geographic feature in the selected geo breakdown. If the feature is a Census geography, this field will contain its FIPS code.
geo_name	The name of the geographic feature in the selected geo breakdown.
date	The date of the network link volume estimation underlying the VMT summation.
vmt	The estimated network link volumes within the geographic feature multiplied by the length of the network links within the feature.
